Popular Nigerian comedian, skit maker and social media influencer, Samuel Perry, widely known as Broda Shaggi, has been hospitalised after he was reportedly shot while filming a comedy skit in the Sango-Ota area of Ogun State.
The incident reportedly occurred on Sunday afternoon under the Sango-Ota bridge while the content creator was on location with his production crew.
Sources familiar with the situation said the circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unclear. However, a police source who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorised to comment publicly said the entertainer sustained the injury during the filming session.
“He was shooting a skit under the Sango-Ota bridge when he sustained a gunshot injury. We don’t have details on how it happened yet, but his crew members who were present quickly rushed him to the hospital,” the source said.
The comedian was initially taken to Blooming Care Hospital in the Alakuko area of Lagos State, where medical personnel administered first aid.
Further findings revealed that he was later referred to Duchess Hospital located in the Government Residential Area, Ikeja, where he is currently receiving further medical care and recuperating.

Attempts to reach both hospitals for official comments were unsuccessful as calls placed to their contact numbers did not connect, while text messages sent to their social media channels had not received responses as of the time of filing this report.
Confirming the development, the spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, Abimbola Adebisi, said the police became aware of the situation after the hospital reported the arrival of a gunshot victim.
“The hospital contacted the police to report that a gunshot victim had been brought to their facility. Detectives and a patrol team were immediately mobilised to the hospital, where they discovered that the victim was a skit maker and social media influencer popularly known as Broda Shaggi.
“He was seen on a stretcher with an injury to his thigh. The location of the incident is in Sango-Ota and not within our jurisdiction, but the investigation is ongoing,” she said.
However, when contacted for clarification, the spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command, Oluseyi Babaseyi, said the incident had not been officially reported to the command.
“The incident was alleged to have occurred in Ogun State, but it was not reported,” he said.
Efforts to obtain a response from Broda Shaggy’s manager, Olufemi Oguntamu, also known as Penzaar, were unsuccessful, as calls and messages sent to him had not been answered as of the time of filing this report.
