Actress Eniola Badmus has said physical appearance does not define value, warning that self-hatred and self-doubt are more damaging than size itself.
In an Instagram post reflecting on her personal weight-loss journey, she wrote:
“Being ‘fat’ is not the problem. Hating yourself is”, adding that confidence, success, love and admiration are not cancelled by body size. According to her, any decision to change should come from care for one’s wellbeing, not pressure or shame.

Badmus said her transformation reinforced a key lesson: lasting change begins in the mind and is built through small, consistent choices over time.
“I didn’t wake up one day different… I made small, consistent decisions. And guess what? You can too,” she wrote.
She encouraged both men and women to be patient with themselves and to honour their bodies at every stage.
“Even before the weight changes, you must love the body you’re in right now. Respect it. Thank it. Celebrate it,” she said.
The actress also thanked supporters who have followed her journey, describing their encouragement as meaningful, and closed with a call for growth rooted in self-love:
“Let’s keep becoming better… not because we hate who we are, but because we love ourselves enough to evolve.”
