Reality television personality and Big Brother Naija winner, Josephina Otabor, popularly known as Phyna, has firmly denied renewed claims that she did not receive her N100 million grand prize, describing a viral video circulating online as a misleading excerpt taken out of context.
Phyna addressed the controversy during a Twitch livestream, where she clarified that the widely shared clip was deliberately edited from a longer conversation to create a false narrative.

According to her, the comments were made in response to critics questioning how she managed her finances, and not as an allegation that the organisers of Big Brother Naija withheld her prize money.
She said: “They keep cutting my video, I never said I have not received my 100 million naira. I was only talking to people who asked me if the 100 million naira had finished.”
The issue has gained renewed attention due to Phyna’s earlier public remarks in 2024, when she called out Big Brother Naija organisers over delays in the payment of some prizes, a development that fuelled fresh speculation online.
Reacting to the latest twist, Phyna cautioned bloggers and content creators against editing her videos in ways that could misrepresent her statements, warning that she would not hesitate to pursue legal action if such actions caused reputational damage or misunderstandings.
She disclosed that she had already reached out to the show’s organisers to clarify the situation, explaining that the circulating clip did not reflect her actual comments.
According to Phyna, she also advised concerned parties to watch the complete Twitch video for proper context and accurate understanding of her remarks.
