Afrobeats star Asake has emerged as the most-streamed artist on Spotify in Nigeria, cementing his dominance in the country’s digital music space.
Spotify announced the milestone as it celebrated five years of operations in Nigeria, Kenya, and Ghana, highlighting the rapid growth of streaming across the region.
“Celebrating 5 years of Spotify in Kenya, Nigeria, and Ghana, powered by you,” the platform said in a commemorative message.

Asake, whose real name is Ahmed Ololade, led a chart dominated by Nigerian heavyweights, ranking ahead of Wizkid, Seyi Vibez, Burna Boy, and Davido. The ranking underscores Afrobeats’ continued influence as Nigeria’s leading sound both locally and globally.
His song “Remember” claimed the top spot as the most-streamed track in Nigeria, while “Lonely at the Top” also secured a place among the top five most-streamed songs in the country.
Spotify credited Nigerian listeners for fueling its expansion and deepening music engagement in the region, revealing that users in Nigeria alone have created more than 25 million playlists over the past five years.
