Soludo sworn in for second term as Anambra governor at Awka ceremony
Chukwuma Soludo has been sworn in for a second term as governor of Anambra State, alongside his deputy Onyekachukwu Ibezim, at a ceremony held in Awka.
The oath of office was administered by the Chief Judge of the state, Onochie Anyachebelu, at the Alex Ekwueme Square on Tuesday.
The inauguration was attended by senior political figures, including Vice President Kashim Shettima and former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan.
Other dignitaries present included elder statesman Emeka Anyaoku, traditional rulers from across the state, and political stakeholders.
Soludo was re-elected on November 8, 2025, under the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance.

Security was heightened across Awka and surrounding areas, with personnel from the police, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, and other agencies deployed to maintain order.
The inauguration followed a thanksgiving service held at the International Convention Centre to mark the end of the administration’s first term.
The second-term inauguration signals continuity in leadership, with expectations focused on governance delivery and policy implementation in the state.
