Bauchi State Police
The Bauchi State Police Command has launched a major security operation in response to rising banditry in Alkaleri Local Government Area, deploying additional personnel and advanced weaponry to troubled communities.
Police Public Relations Officer, Nafiu Habib, said the deployment targets Gwana, Digare, and Kafin Duguri, which have recently experienced a spike in criminal activity. “Following a thorough security assessment, the Command, in collaboration with the military, DSS, NSCDC, and other agencies, has initiated massive joint operations to suppress these criminal elements,” Habib said on Thursday.
The police spokesman reassured residents of Mansur town, who had fled over fear of attacks, that the situation was under control. “Despite incidents in neighbouring Gwana District, Mansur town remains unaffected. There is no cause for alarm,” he said.

Habib noted that security operations are supported by the Bauchi State Government and are already yielding positive results. He urged residents to cooperate by providing intelligence on suspicious activities, assuring them that all information would be treated confidentially.
Commissioner of Police Sani Omolori Aliyu emphasised the importance of community support in combating insecurity. “Massive deployments of personnel and enhanced weaponry are in place to prevent any breakdown of law and order. Operatives are working tirelessly to ensure peace and stability,” Habib added.
