Nigeria Army Troop Using Drone
Troops of Operation Enduring Peace in Plateau State have killed five suspected kidnappers and rescued a woman held hostage in Riyom Local Government Area.
The operation was carried out on Tuesday evening at a hideout in Angwan Boka, Sopp District.
The Joint Military Task Force confirmed the raid, which followed intelligence from two suspects arrested earlier this month.
Captain Chinonso Polycarp Oteh, the task force spokesman, said the troops acted swiftly to rescue the woman, Hauwa Suleiman, who was found unharmed and reunited with her family.
Captain Oteh urged communities to continue sharing credible information to help security forces combat crime. “With actionable intelligence, we can locate criminal elements and maintain peace, allowing people to farm and run businesses without fear,” he said.

Residents confirmed the raid and the items recovered, including three mobile phones, ₦17,600 cash, and substances suspected to be drugs. John Mairiga, a local resident, praised the troops for their prompt action.
This operation follows a recent Operation Hadin Kai effort, where 16 insurgents were neutralised and 11 hostages rescued in the Northeast.
The military maintains a firm stance on tackling criminal activities across Nigeria, aiming to restore safety and order in vulnerable communities.
