Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has been released from prison after fulfilling the bail conditions set by the court in connection with an alleged assault and theft case.
The ‘Zazu’ crooner regained his freedom on Monday, January 19, after spending about a week in detention following his arraignment before the Federal High Court sitting in Ota, Ogun State.
Portable was arrested after accusations that he assaulted his baby mama, Ashabi Simple, and her siblings, and allegedly stole a vehicle. The incident gained widespread attention after a video linked to a heated exchange between the singer and Ashabi on New Year’s Eve went viral on social media.

In another video that later circulated online, Portable denied the allegations, insisting on his innocence.
“They lied against me,” the singer said.
Following complaints by Ashabi and her siblings, Portable was charged on nine counts and subsequently remanded in custody pending a fresh bail hearing.
The presiding judge had adjourned the matter until Monday, January 19, 2026, when the singer met his bail conditions and was released from prison.
The case remains before the court as legal proceedings continue.
