Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Kelvin Aneke, urges NAF troops to intensify operations against banditry in the North-West.
The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Kelvin Aneke, has charged troops of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) to intensify efforts against terrorism, banditry, and other criminal activities in the North-West region.
He also urged them to strengthen security around their bases and protect the lives and property of host communities.
Air Marshal Aneke, gave the charge during a Christmas luncheon with troops of the Air Component of Operation Fansan Yamma Sector 2 and personnel of the 213 Forward Operating Base (FOB), Katsina, held on Thursday at the base’s sports complex.
He was represented by the Chief of Policy and Plans, Air Vice Marshal Abubakar Abdullahi Yaro.
“Do not leave any stone unturned in the quest to subdue terrorism, banditry and other forms of criminality within the North-West region,” the Air Chief said.
He noted that recent joint operations involving the NAF and other security agencies have yielded results, including the neutralisation of terrorists, disruption of their logistics, and the rescue of kidnapped victims.
“The combined efforts of the Nigerian Air Force alongside sister services have had significant impact on bandits and terrorists. Many fighters have been neutralised, their logistics degraded, and several abducted persons freed,” he added.
Air Marshal Aneke commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his commitment to improving operational logistics and welfare within the Air Force, saying it has boosted morale and operational effectiveness. He assured personnel that their sacrifices are recognised and that efforts are ongoing to address their welfare and administrative needs.
