President Trump meets DR Congo and Rwandan leaders to sign peace agreement in Washington.
US President Donald Trump hosted Rwandan President Paul Kagame and DR Congo President Felix Tshisekedi on Thursday to sign a peace agreement, despite ongoing fighting in eastern Congo.
The deal aims to curb violence in the mineral-rich region, which supplies key resources for electric vehicles, including cobalt and copper. It also includes a framework for regional economic integration and a strategic partnership on natural resources.

Fighting continues as the Rwandan-backed M23 armed group has gained ground against Kinshasa’s forces in recent weeks. Rene Chubaka Kalembire, an official in Kaziba, reported bombed homes and multiple deaths.
