Liberia’s President, Joseph Boakai, said Imo State can achieve significant transformation through innovation.
Boakai spoke on Thursday at the 2025 Imo Economic Summit in Owerri, hosted by Governor Hope Uzodimma. “Innovation can become the engine that drives Imo’s transformation,” he said.
He added that elections should not only be peaceful but also deliver development benefits to citizens. “The lives of the people must be improved,”
Boakai noted similarities between Liberia and Imo State, highlighting shared resilience, commitment to peace, and good governance. He also praised Liberia’s recent election to a non-permanent seat on the UN Security Council as a symbol of Africa’s growing global influence.
