The House of Representatives has approved a budget of ₦250 billion for the South East Development Commission (SEDC).
Chairman of the House Committee on SEDC, Chris Nkwonta, disclosed this while briefing journalists on Monday following a closed-door budget defense session, with the Commission’s Management and Board members in Abuja.
He acknowledged that while the approved amount falls short of the initial ₦340 billion requested, it remains a significant step toward addressing the needs of the South-East region.
According to Nkwonta, the budget will focus on critical areas such as infrastructure development, environmental challenges, insecurity, and unemployment
