Kimpact Development Initiative (KDI), has formalised a strategic partnership with the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) to establish a Civic and Voter Education Community Development Service (CDS) group for corps members across Nigeria.
The partnership follows the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two organisations on March 11, 2026, at the NYSC National Headquarters in Abuja.
According to a statement signed by Mercy Abiem, Communications Manager at KDI, the initiative aims to mobilise thousands of corps members across the nation’s 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory to promote voter and civic education within their host communities.

Under the programme, corps members will operate through the KDI Civic and Voter Education CDS Group, to provide awareness and information to citizens on their civic rights, democratic participation as well as electoral processes.
The statement says the initiative seeks to leverage the nationwide structure and community presence of the NYSC scheme to extend voter education messages to diverse and underserved communities.
KDI noted that the programme will also ensure that all civic education activities are accurate, inclusive, aligned with national electoral guidelines and civic mobilisation standards.
It explains that the partnership marks a significant step toward institutionalising youth-led civic engagement in Nigeria. By embedding voter education activities within the NYSC structure, “the programme is expected to create a sustainable platform for young Nigerians to actively contribute to strengthening democratic culture and electoral integrity”.
Kimpact Development Initiative reaffirmed its commitment to promoting democratic governance, electoral accountability and increased civic participation through strategic partnerships and innovative engagement programmes.
