Flames consume a solar and electricity generation facility in Tyre after Israeli bombardment, highlighting the escalating humanitarian and infrastructure toll in southern Lebanon.
President Donald Trump threatened to intensify bombing campaigns in Iran on Saturday, even as Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian vowed that Tehran would never surrender, following a fresh wave of US and Israel airstrikes.
Tehran’s Mehrabad International Airport was engulfed in flames and smoke, marking one of the heaviest raids since the conflict began last Saturday. Targets included a military academy, underground command centers, and missile storage facilities.
“Today Iran will be hit very hard!” Trump posted on Truth Social, threatening “complete destruction” of areas and groups previously spared. Pezeshkian responded, saying, “Their wish for the unconditional surrender of the Iranian people must go to their graves.”
Iranian Retaliation and Regional Tensions
Despite sustained attacks, Iran has maintained missile and drone operations, striking targets across Jerusalem, UAE, and Saudi Arabia. Video confirmed a projectile hit Dubai International Airport, while Gulf nations intercepted dozens of missiles and drones.
Iran also targeted the oil tanker Prima in the Strait of Hormuz, threatening a key global shipping route.
The war has spread to Lebanon, where Hezbollah controls southern suburbs of Beirut, and to waters near Sri Lanka, Cyprus, and Turkey.
Human and Economic Toll
The conflict has caused mounting civilian casualties. Iranian authorities report 926 deaths and 6,000 injuries, while Lebanon’s health ministry cites 217 fatalities. Security forces patrol Tehran heavily, and residents live under constant fear of strikes.

Political Standoff and Defiance
Trump has ruled out new negotiations with Tehran and demanded an “UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER” from Iran, while asserting he would influence the selection of the country’s next leader. Iran’s UN ambassador, Amir Saeid Iravani, emphasized that leadership decisions would remain solely under Iranian constitutional procedures.
Global powers Vladimir Putin and China have so far remained largely disengaged, though Putin called for an immediate ceasefire in talks with Pezeshkian.
The conflict has already claimed the lives of six US service members, whose bodies are being returned in a ceremony at Dover Air Force Base, Delaware.
