Kwara State prepares 67 Christian pilgrims for 2026 Holy Land journey.
Kwara State Government has announced plans to airlift 67 Christian pilgrims for the 2026 pilgrimage in February, urging them to act as ambassadors of the state and Nigeria while in the Holy Land.
Christian pilgrims speaking in Ilorin on Thursday, stressed discipline, good conduct, and responsible behaviour during the pilgrimage. Alabi, represented by the Senior Special Adviser on Religion, Rev. Timothy Akangbe, gave the charge at a seminar organised by the Kwara State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board.
The seminar, themed “Pilgrimage as a Tool for Spiritual Development,” was held at the ECWA Church Chapel, Challenge Road, Ilorin. Alabi advised pilgrims to prepare adequately, noting the winter season in Jordan and Israel, and to maintain the country’s integrity abroad.
The Chairman of the Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, Evangelist Prof. Timothy Opoola, reinforced the message, urging the pilgrims to follow Nigerian and host country regulations, pack appropriately for cold weather, and adapt to different food types in the Holy Land.
