The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has arrested a suspected car snatcher in Uyo and recovered a stolen Toyota Corolla with registration number DKA-337 CB.
The arrest followed a late-night robbery involving a ride-hailing driver, according to the Police.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Timfon John, said the suspect was arrested on January 20, 2026, after police received a distress call at about 11:30 pm.

DSP John said police operatives immediately launched an intelligence-led operation, which led them to Nkwot Ikono village in Etim Ekpo Local Government Area, where the stolen vehicle was traced.
