National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has issued a safety and travel advisory to Prospective Corps Members (PCMs) of the 2026 Batch A Stream I, urging them to prioritise their safety while travelling to orientation camps.
In a statement posted on its National Directorate Headquarters (NDHQ) X handle on Tuesday, the scheme warned corps members to travel only during the daytime, citing security and road safety risks associated with night journeys.
The NYSC advised prospective corps members to use registered transport companies and approved motor parks to reduce exposure to unsafe travel conditions.
It also urged travellers to share their live location with family members or trusted contacts throughout their journey to aid emergency response if needed.

The scheme further encouraged corps members to speak out against speeding or reckless driving, stressing that silence could endanger lives.
NYSC added that travellers should keep their mobile phones fully charged and carry power banks to maintain communication at all times.
The agency noted that corps members should stop their journey and continue the next day if it becomes late, emphasising that personal safety is more important than arriving early.
