The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt.-Gen. Waidi Shaibu, has pledged the sustained deployment of troops and operational resources to tackle ongoing security challenges in Plateau State and other parts of the country.
Shaibu gave the assurance on Tuesday during a courtesy visit to Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, as part of his operational and familiarisation tour of Nigerian Army formations in the state.
In a statement issued by the Army spokesperson, Col. Appolonia Anele, the Army chief reaffirmed the military’s resolve to restore enduring peace, stressing that personnel would continue to be deployed in a professional and coordinated manner to protect lives and property.
“The Nigerian Army will continue to deploy its personnel and resources professionally to mitigate security threats and ensure the protection of lives and property. With all hands on deck, lasting peace on the Plateau is achievable,” Shaibu said.

The COAS commended the Plateau State Government for its sustained support to the Nigerian Army, particularly the Armoured Corps, describing the state as both a strategic partner and the home of the corps.
Acknowledging the complex nature of security challenges in Plateau State, Shaibu emphasised the importance of sustained collaboration, intelligence sharing, and joint efforts among security agencies and other stakeholders, noting that such cooperation remains key to achieving long-term stability.
