Vice President Kashim Shettima has arrived in Davos, Switzerland, to lead Nigeria’s delegation at the 56th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF).
He flew in from Conakry, Guinea, where he represented President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the inauguration of President Mamadi Doumbouya on Saturday.
On arrival, Shettima was received by Foreign Affairs Minister Yussuf Tuggar, Minister of Trade and Investment Jumoke Oduwole, and officials from the Nigerian mission in Switzerland.
The 2026 forum marks a milestone for Nigeria, with the official debut of “Nigeria House Davos,” a sovereign pavilion established for the first time on the Davos Promenade.

The pavilion, developed through a Public-Private Partnership, will host ministerial engagements, investment roundtables, and cultural diplomacy sessions throughout the week.
Vice President Shettima is scheduled to present Nigeria’s 2026 economic outlook and participate in plenary sessions on the responsible deployment of Artificial Intelligence, quantum computing, and biotechnology.
The Vice President will also hold bilateral meetings with heads of state, multinational executives, and leaders of international development finance institutions, aiming to strengthen partnerships aligned with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Speaking shortly after Shettima’s arrival, Minister Oduwole said Nigeria would showcase its investment potential at the Nigeria House.
“We will be showcasing four playbooks on President Tinubu’s efforts in re-engineering the Nigerian economy. We will present our solid minerals sector, climate sustainability, agriculture, creative and digital sectors to investors from all over the world,” she said.
