Lagos Taskforce arrests suspect in attack on motorist along Oshodi–Iyana Ipaja Road.
Lagos State Environmental Taskforce and Anti-Crime Squad have arrested a suspect linked to an attack on a motorist along the Oshodi–Iyana Ipaja Road.
According to a video shared on X.com (formerly Twitter) by Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, the incident occurred Wednesday at around 8:30 p.m. The motorist’s vehicle had broken down when the suspect, with other gang members, attacked and demanded money.
Wahab said, Yesterday, at about 20:30hrs, the Lagos State Environmental Taskforce/anti-crime squad arrested a suspect for attacking and forcibly demanding money from an innocent citizen whose vehicle broke down along the Oshodi–Iyana Ipaja Road, together with his gang members who are presently at large.

The taskforce acted swiftly to apprehend one suspect at the scene, while others escaped. “The suspect has been detained and will be arraigned soon,” the agency added, noting that efforts are ongoing to arrest the remaining gang members.
