Habeeb Okikiola, widely known as Portable, was on Monday arraigned before the Federal High Court sitting in Ota, Ogun State, over a nine-count criminal charge bordering on assault, theft and obstruction of law enforcement officers.
The charges arose from an alleged altercation at the singer’s bar in the Iyana Ilogbo area on New Year’s Day. Prosecutors told the court that Portable allegedly attacked his estranged partner, Ashabi Simple, alongside several police officers who were said to be carrying out their lawful duties at the scene.
Among the officers reportedly assaulted was a female inspector, Ogungbe Olayemi. The charge sheet also listed other alleged victims, including Ileyemi Damilola, Akinyanju Oluwabusayomi, Olowu Olumide, Demilade Ogunniyi and Ebuka Odah.

In addition to the assault-related counts, Portable is accused of stealing a Mercedes-Benz E300 valued at N12 million, said to belong to Ileyemi Damilola.
During the proceedings, the presiding judge declined to grant the singer bail, citing the absence of the police officer allegedly assaulted in the incident. The court subsequently ordered that Portable be remanded in custody pending further hearing.
The case was adjourned to January 19
