Sustained military pressure by troops of Operation Hadin Kai has led to the surrender of 11 Boko Haram and ISWAP fighters in Borno State, while eight other terrorists were killed and two logistics collaborators arrested in separate operations.
The development was disclosed in a statement issued on Sunday by the Media Information Officer of the Joint Task Force, North East Operation Hadin Kai, Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba.

According to him, the surrendered fighters laid down their arms along the Azir–Wajiroko axis on January 10, 2026, during ongoing offensive actions under Operation Desert Sanity V, handing over AK-47 rifles and assorted ammunition.
“Troops of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) have sustained intense offensive operations against Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists across Borno State, recording notable successes in clearance, fighting patrols and blocking operations,” the statement said.

Uba explained that a day earlier, on January 9, troops carried out extensive clearance operations in the Bulaagalda cluster, destroying several active terrorist enclaves and camps at Dagumba, Bonne, Yaganari, Gosuri and Umchile, including the notorious Abu Nazir and Abu Ahmed camps.
“During the operation, troops dismantled life-support structures, degraded terrorist logistics and recovered items including terrorist flags and weapons as well as magazines,” he stated.

He added that similar operations in the Yale and Bula Gaida areas forced terrorists to flee, leading to the destruction of additional logistics facilities and the recovery of weapons, ammunition and a general-purpose machine gun.
“In a related operation based on credible intelligence, troops engaged JAS/ISWAP elements between Sojiri and Kayamla villages, resulting in the neutralisation of eight terrorists and the recovery of AK-47 rifles,” the statement noted.
Uba also confirmed the arrest of two suspected terrorist logistics suppliers in Gubio Local Government Area for allegedly providing support materials to insurgents.
He assured that troops of Operation Hadin Kai remain resolute in sustaining offensive pressure, dismantling terrorist networks and restoring lasting peace and security across the North East region.
