Four members of Nigeria’s House of Representatives from Rivers State have defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The lawmakers are Manuchim Umezuruike (Port Harcourt I), Boniface Emerengwa (Ikwerre/Emuoha), Awake-Inombek Abiante (Andoni/Opobo) and Boma Goodhead (Asari-Toru).
The defections follow the recent move by Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara to the APC. The lawmakers are widely seen as political allies of the governor.
