Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun meets Kebbi State security officials following the abduction of schoolgirls.
Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has arrived in Kebbi State in a swift federal response to the recent abduction of students from Government Girls Comprehensive Senior Secondary School, Maga.
The visit underscores mounting concern over renewed attacks on educational institutions across the North-West and the government’s efforts to prevent further incidents.
According to a televised channel, the Police IG will meet with Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, before briefing officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force on measures to boost operational readiness and accelerate rescue efforts.

Egbetokun’s visit follows a high-level security strategy session with President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa on Sunday, where rising cases of mass abductions in Kebbi, Niger and Kwara states were reviewed.
Present at the meeting were Nigeria’s top military and intelligence chiefs, including Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Oluyode; Chief of Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal Kelvin Aneke; Chief of Naval Staff, Rear Admiral Idi Abbas; Chief of Defence Intelligence, Major General E.A.P. Undiendeye; Chief of Army Staff, Major General Waidi Shaibu; and Director-General of the Department of State Services, Tosin Ajayi.
