The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has announced a major reduction in the cost of the 2026 Hajj, offering much-needed relief to intending pilgrims across the country.
In a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday, NAHCON revealed that the new fares reflect significant cuts compared to 2025 rates, part of efforts to make the pilgrimage more affordable for Nigerian Muslims.

Breakdown As Follows:
- Borno and Adamawa zones will now pay ₦7,579,020.96, down by ₦748,104.63 from the previous ₦8,327,125.59.
- Northern Zone pilgrims will pay ₦7,696,769.76, representing a reduction of ₦760,915.83 from ₦8,457,685.59.
- Southern Zone pilgrims will now pay ₦7,991,141.76, a decrease of ₦792,943.83 from ₦8,784,085.59.
NAHCON said the review aims to “ease the financial burden on prospective pilgrims and encourage broader participation in the 2026 Hajj.”
The commission also announced December 5, 2025, as the new payment deadline for all intending pilgrims.
“Intending pilgrims are advised to complete their payments on or before the stated deadline to ensure smooth processing and participation in the 2026 Hajj,” the statement read.
