Nigerian actress, storyteller, and social advocate Etta JoMaria has clinched the Young Achiever of the Year Award at the Music Video Africa Awards (MVAA), a recognition that underscores her growing influence as one of Africa’s most dynamic creative voices.
Etta, who has earned multiple nominations and honours, including four Best Actress nods and recognition from the Women Economic Forum, is widely celebrated for her powerful storytelling and socially conscious performances.

Her notable screen credits include Cheta M, Gold Coast Lounge, Slum King, Glass House and The Waiting Song. She also stars in Grind Season 2 on Prime Video and The Low Priest on Africa Magic Showcase.
Expressing gratitude after receiving the award, Etta described the honour as a celebration of African stories and the new generation of creatives bringing them to life.
“Every time I step in front of the camera, I carry the voices, dreams, and spirit of my generation. I’m grateful to the MVAA for shining light on what we do,” she said.
