The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), in collaboration with the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) and other key partners, has successfully received 150 Nigerians repatriated from Agadez, Niger Republic.
The returnees, comprising 88 adult males, 32 adult females, 14 male children, and 16 female children, arrived safely at the Aminu Kano International Airport, Kano, around 5:20 a.m. on Thursday.

In a statement posted on its official X page on Friday, NEMA said the operation reflects the Federal Government’s ongoing commitment to the safe, dignified, and humane return of Nigerian citizens stranded abroad.
“After registration, the returnees were transported to Bizare Hotel Luxury Apartments for accommodation and profiling on 24 October 2025,” the agency stated.
According to NEMA, the returnees received immediate humanitarian assistance, including food, potable water, medical care, and logistical support to ensure a smooth transition process.
“The collaborative efforts of NEMA, IOM, NCFRMI, and other stakeholders ensured that the entire reception process was well coordinated, efficient, and centred on the dignity and welfare of all returnees,” the agency added.
Over the years, NEMA and its partners have facilitated the return of thousands of Nigerians stranded across various countries, reinforcing the government’s pledge to protect the welfare of its citizens wherever they are.
