The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has announced that it will roll out a cashless payment system across all airports in the country, beginning with Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, and Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, from September 29, 2025.

The initiative, tagged “Operation Go Cashless”, is being implemented in partnership with Paystack and will cover all FAAN revenue points — including airport access gates, car parks, and VIP/Protocol lounges.
Effective September 29, 2025, all payments at FAAN’s revenue points… will go cashless. Travelers and airport users will now enjoy fast and seamless services by using a secure contactless payment option,” FAAN management said in a statement on Friday.
The agency explained that the move is aimed at enhancing efficiency, improving revenue assurance, and aligning Nigeria’s airports with global digital standards.

To ensure smooth adoption, trained brand ambassadors have been deployed across terminals to guide passengers through the transition. In addition, travellers can obtain a FAAN Go Cashless Card at access gates in Lagos and Abuja, which can be activated and funded immediately via [www.gocashless.faan.gov.ng](http://www.gocashless.faan.gov.ng).
FAAN said the policy responds to increasing demand for safe, transparent, and modern payment systems, adding that reducing reliance on cash would improve security, speed up services, and deliver a better passenger experience.
