President Bola Tinubu directs the immediate construction of 600-capacity hostels for Nigerian Law School, Abuja students, alongside a new road to ease campus traffic.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the construction of new hostels to ease accommodation challenges for students at the Abuja campus of the Nigerian Law School.
In a statement released on Tuesday by Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media to the FCT Minister, Tinubu directed FCT Minister Nyesom Wike to commence the projects immediately.

The presidency confirmed that the hostels will have a total capacity of 600 students, divided into two 300-capacity hostels — one for female students and another for male students.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed the Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, to immediately commence the construction of two hostels of 300 capacity each for the Nigerian Law School, Abuja,” the statement said.
This approval follows a series of recent initiatives by the FCT Minister to improve the law school’s facilities:
- In December 2024, Wike flagged off the design and construction of an annexe office for the Body of Benchers, clarifying that infrastructure support does not constitute executive interference in the judiciary.
- Construction of 10 four-bedroom staff bungalows and provision of operational vehicles, including three coaster buses and four Hilux vehicles, was also initiated.
- The hostel projects were included in the 2025 FCT budget.
In addition to the hostels, Tinubu approved the construction of a road linking the Body of Benchers Secretariat in Jabi District with Nile University.
According to the FCT Minister’s spokesperson, “the road, when completed, will ease traffic congestion on the road leading to the head office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.”
