Afrobeats superstar Davido has been officially inducted as a voting member of the Recording Academy, the organization behind the prestigious GRAMMY Awards.
The milestone gives the Feel crooner a place among the global community of music professionals who will shape the outcome of the 2026 GRAMMY Awards
The Recording Academy confirmed his inclusion on Tuesday in an Instagram post, unveiling a video that featured Davido alongside other new members such as Ravyn Lenae, Offset, Jessie Reyez, and Zac Brown Band.
“Creating a song or an album takes heart, time, and dedication. That’s why Recording Academy members, including #Davido, #ravynlenae, #offsetyrn, #jessiereyez, #zacbrownband… are sharing why your participation matters,” the caption read.

As a voting member, Davido will directly influence both the nomination and final-ballot processes for the 2026 awards — a landmark recognition that follows his *three nominations at the 2024 GRAMMYs
Reacting to the honour, Davido described the opportunity as transformative:
“Understanding the importance of how our voices are heard, I am participating in the GRAMMY Award process. It is a game-changer. I have learned that voting empowers you to have a say in what is considered and voted on in each season. I am honoured to be part of the Recording Academy community, and I look forward to voting.”
His induction aligns with the Academy’s renewed efforts to diversify membership and boost representation of African and international artists, ensuring the awards reflect a truly global music landscape.
The Recording Academy added that voting for the 2026 GRAMMYs will open on October 3, urging members to “review the ballot, listen, and vote early.”
