Chef Dammy clarifies she is not attempting the world’s largest pot of beans, urging the public to avoid unverified social media claims, while celebrating Hilda Baci’s recent Guinness World Record achievement.
Nigerian culinary star Damilola Adeparusi, popularly known as Chef Dammy, has dismissed circulating claims that she plans to cook the world’s largest pot of beans, clarifying that no such project is underway.
In a video shared online, Chef Dammy urged the public to exercise caution against unverified information.
“I am not cooking the biggest pot of beans,” she stated, describing the rumours as another example of how misinformation spreads rapidly on social media.
The speculation gained traction earlier this week following widespread online chatter suggesting that Chef Dammy would attempt a record-breaking culinary feat. The claims came shortly after Hilda Baci made headlines on September 12, 2025, for cooking the largest pot of Nigerian-style jollof rice, cementing her place on the global culinary map.

Chef Dammy, who rose to fame in 2023 after a daring 120-hour cook-a-thon in Ekiti State, acknowledged the attention these stunts often attract.
“While I remain passionate about my culinary journey, I am currently not engaged in any Guinness World Record attempt or cooking challenge of this nature,” she clarified.
In the same video, Chef Dammy congratulated Hilda Baci on her accomplishment, praising her resilience and success in showcasing Nigerian cuisine on a global platform. Her gesture has been lauded online as a notable display of support and solidarity among young Nigerian creatives.
