Court bars INEC from listing Mark, Aregbesola as ADC leaders.
The Federal High Court in Abuja has restrained the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from recognising David Mark and Rauf Aregbesola as interim leaders of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Justice Emeka Nwite issued the order after hearing a motion ex parte filed on September 2, 2025, by Nafiu Gombe. INEC and former ADC chairman Ralph Nwosu were also listed as defendants.
INEC had recently updated its website, listing Mark as interim national chairman and Aregbesola as national secretary, alongside Oserheimen Osunbor and Ibrahim Mani.

The ruling comes months after top opposition figures including Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, Nasir El-Rufai, and Rotimi Amaechi , adopted the ADC as their platform for the 2027 elections.
But the coalition has faced criticism, with former ADC presidential candidate Dumebi Kachikwu describing its leaders as “enemies of Nigeria.”
