Nigerian rapper and activist, Falz, surprises fans with engagement announcement and pre-wedding photos.
Popular Nigerian rapper, Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz, has announced his engagement, taking fans by surprise.
The award-winning artiste broke the news on Thursday night via Instagram, sharing pre-wedding photographs with his partner and describing the decision as “one of the best decisions of my life.”
The revelation has drawn shock and amusement, especially as Falz had often been vocal about steering clear of romance.
In a May 2025 interview, he admitted he had never told anyone “I love you” and had never truly been in love, stressing that he usually kept relationships at arm’s length while prioritising his career and personal growth.
Similarly, in a 2024 interview, Falz recounted his “worst first date experience,” describing the awkwardness that had coloured his limited attempts at romance. The rapper has not been publicly linked with any relationship in recent years.
Reactions have since trailed the announcement, with fans and celebrities flooding his page with congratulatory messages. Some, however, expressed skepticism. Reality TV star and actress Vee Iye remarked that only a marriage certificate would convince her, while musician and comedian Nasboi joked that a kiss was the only proof he needed.
