The suspended Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, on Tuesday met with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Lagos amid ongoing political tensions in the state.
Governor Fubara’s visit comes shortly after his suspension, alongside that of his deputy and members of the Rivers State House of Assembly, by President Tinubu. The decision followed a prolonged political crisis rocking the oil-rich coastal state.
Photos of the meeting were shared by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, via his official handle on X (formerly Twitter), signaling a possible effort at reconciliation or further dialogue.
Details of the discussions between the President and Governor Fubara have not yet been disclosed.
