President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to deepening collaboration with Anambra State and the wider South-East region, promising continued delivery of democratic dividends to the people.
Speaking during the inauguration of key infrastructure projects in Awka, President Tinubu lauded Governor Chukwuma Soludo for his visionary and transformative leadership, describing him as “a brilliant man and a friend.”
He emphasized that political differences must not stand in the way of progress and national unity.
“I am honoured to be here to commend my friend, Governor Chukwuma Soludo, who is a visionary and competent leader for the work he has been doing in Anambra State,” President Tinubu said, while also expressing gratitude to the people of the state for their support during his election.
Governor Soludo, in his welcome remarks, hailed the President’s visit as a major endorsement of Anambra’s renewed development drive.
He described the inaugurated projects as symbols of the new vision for the state, adding that more transformative initiatives are underway.“Our goal is to transform Anambra into a livable, smart megacity, from a place people once departed to a destination hub of innovation and opportunity,” Governor Soludo declared.
He commended President Tinubu for steering the nation through economic headwinds and acknowledged the President’s past success in Lagos State as a testament to his capacity to lead Nigeria into economic recovery.
“You had the courage to tame the Atlantic Ocean in Lagos. Now, you are courageously and systematically getting the economy to work again,” Soludo said.
“There’s still a lot of work to do, but it’s clear that in under two years, key building blocks are falling into place.”

During the visit, President Tinubu commissioned the long-awaited Anambra Government House, a project that had taken 34 years to complete since the state’s creation, as well as the newly established Emeka Anyaoku Institute for International Studies and Diplomacy at Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Awka.
The President paid tribute to Chief Emeka Anyaoku, lauding his legacy as a former Secretary-General of the Commonwealth and a statesman committed to democracy, peace, and national unity.
The visit culminated in the conferment of a traditional title on President Tinubu by the Anambra State Traditional Rulers Council, honouring him with the title “Dike Si Mba, Anambra”, meaning “Hero from Beyond.”
