The House of Representatives has passed a bill for second reading, seeking to ensure that all appeals arising from election petition tribunals are resolved before the swearing-in of elected officials.
The proposed legislation, sponsored by Bauchi lawmaker Mansur Manu Soro and five others, is among 39 bills aimed at amending the 1999 Constitution.
The bill has been referred to the Constitutional Review Committee for further legislative consideration.
