The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has officially announced the opening of the 2024 Batch C Stream II Orientation Camp today, Wednesday, January 22, 2025, in all states nationwide.
The announcement, made via the NYSC’s official X (formerly Twitter) handle, reminded prospective corps members (PCMs) to report to their designated camps as indicated on their call-up letters. PCMs are required to bring along all necessary documents and survival packs for the three-week orientation program.
The NYSC also confirmed the release of deployment letters for the batch, enabling PCMs to access their service year details. In a safety advisory, the scheme urged all corps members to prioritize safety during their travels, cautioning against night journeys.
“PCMs are advised not to travel to Orientation Camps at night,” the NYSC emphasized, reiterating its dedication to ensuring the safety of all corps members.
Additionally, PCMs were reminded to print and sign the addendum form, which must be submitted during camp registration.
For logistical reasons, the NYSC announced that some PCMs deployed to Lagos State will attend their orientation in Ekiti, Ondo, or Osun camps, while those deployed to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) may have their orientation in Nasarawa or Kaduna camps.
The orientation camp marks the first phase of the one-year mandatory service established by the Nigerian government in 1973 to promote national unity, integration, and development. The program includes:
- A three-week orientation camp
- A primary assignment phase
- A community development service (CDS) period
The NYSC urged all prospective corps members to comply with these directives and follow its official social media platforms for updates.
